Last time I treed a bear in my backyard.






Dead pine at the front of the property fell in the windstorm.





Cut it off, drag it off the road, always need firewood.





Tried a recipe for hazelnut shortbread, so ground up some hazelnuts...I didnt like them, they werent melt in your mouth enough...





Off to set up for the Garlic Festival, today is just put the tent and tables up, jsut to speed things up for tmmw, the merchandise shows up tmmw, help wife sell her jewellery shit...I basically just sit in the back just out of sight to keep any thieves away and cover for potty breaks, I like festival food and the people watching is fun, love to make fun of others to make me feel better aboot myself and realistically its the only social contact I get...I hide in the truck for 6mos and only see truckers and the like, then the other 6 months I hide in my house in the forest...The $$ made from these 2 days give me a month off ...lookin like a thunderstorm is right on top of us ...take not of the green Jimmy .





The broad in the green Jimmy has her tent set up, and the 4 walls on the tent, and all her fragile breakable ceramics that she's brought to sell in her tent...she makes a comment while giggling that we are gonna get rained on while setting up our tent and gets into her jimmy and drives over to the parking area...





STORM rolls in within 15mins and we're hanging on to our tent for dear life getting whipped with rain and wind, these Costco 10' x 10' tents are the standard issue that merchants at flea markets and festivals use and ARENT meant to stand up to STORMS, and the cunt that was laughing at us, HER tent was a rockin and a rollin as the four walls on the tent made it an awesome sail for the wind to catch...she DID have the tie-downs anchored very well, too well actually, the tent still went 6' in the air, just broke off its legs in teh process, tossing all her wares to the ground, breaking everything .





Early next am, to set up, the carnage that was her tent ....some would talk aboot karma, but those people are retarded...she didnt show for the weekend as she had nothing left to sell.





Cold and dreary morning, fog off the lake aint helpin either, forecast says sunny by lunchtime .

Day 1 is over and Option 1 is pack up all teh wares and take them to the house just to bring them back and re-display them the next am which takes alot of time, or Option 2, leave it all here and camp overnite to protect it, I went with #2.

This local band was pretty good...forget their name...but bettar than the regular band that plays all these events, The James Gang...they sound ok, they just cant vary the beat, cuz the guitarist cant do quick solos, so they play every song at the same speed.







Artie Lange!!!! ...but srsly...he was volunteering for the SPCA tent next to mine...the 2 volunteers that were to show up didnt. So one of the higher up girls had to show up to cover for it, she works at the vets, so through Tibet and Maggie, I know her, she's cool cuz she's no fucking nonsense aboot everything, if you baffle her, you will know it....and this Artie looking motherfucker was talking aboot how he lets his female cats roam freely and have litters ...the conversation STOPS....long pause, and here it comes ..just goes into brow beating the retard and flatly tells him he's not welcome in the organization with an attitude like that .

I blew out the rivet in my chair at the festival, so used a bolt to fix er up .

Where i used to park trailers when I took days off and brought the truck to the house, Id give the guy a carton of smokes from the duty free ($14) and he’d let me park there.





Couple miles up the road is this fork, used to live up the road to the right (1300 road) at the top of the hill next to the airstrip.





But for now, we’re staying on the lower road along Poquette Lk.

This being September, the water level isnt at its highest like in Springtime what with snowmelt...during highwater, the water carves these bowls in the rocks .

After a mile long drive down the hill, come to a cabin overlooking Spanish Lake....been comin here for 20yrs, never seen ANY activity in/around the cabin at all, in any season...no vandalism to it either...its a beautiful spot but the road maintenance would be a killer and in the winter there is ZERO sun as the the valley its situated in is way steep.

100yo dam...this lake was dammed and the water used for placer mining.





This 22000# steam shovel was used in the early 1900s to dig the canal from the lake to the mines....it was left behind, father in law 'found' it on his minesite, it now sits at a park in the town.

Testing out 2 products to restore the black plastic on the jeep, have the old stuff that Ive used before, black chrome on the rear wheel well, and 303 Protectant that I have for my kayak anyways, and 'Detailers' say is better on the front wheel wells, wait a couple months and see what has worked better.
